Institute for Essential Psychotherapy

The training Essential Psychotherapy is facilitated by the training responsible Natalia Cornejo Bach and several voluntary and engaged professionals. On this page you can read more about each of us volunteers – about our professional competences, passions and personal life philosophy.

“We are very passionate about disseminating awareness of this direction. Essential Psychotherapy can lead us to live and interact with ourselves and others in a nurturing and authentic way. The direction supports a life process, which focuses on being with the nuances and conditions of life as they are in an open and relaxed way, which creates deep internal and external connections. Concurrently, we train being present in a healing and awakened way, which gives us the opportunity to support others in their path.”

The Institute for Essential Psychotherapy is located in Germany and is led by Wolfgang Erhardt and Dr. Med. Tilmann Borghardt. Through an integration of Buddha Dharma traditions and psychotherapeutic methods, the institute has developed a methodology which is deeply rooted in liberation and awakening. Essential Psychotherapy is an approach to therapeutic methods, which among other things includes mindfulness and awareness.

mette bager nielsen

Mette Bager Nielsen is in charge of sign-up coordination and other administrative assignments.

She is a trained psychotherapist, supervisor and change coach.

Mette has meditated for many years and for the past two years, she has practiced Buddhism. She has, among other things, participated in several retreats under Tilmann in Germany.

Mette works as a career counselor and coach. To her, the essential in her work with other people consists in compassion and being present in the collaboration with others – no matter which challenges the other person faces.

“Practicing the Buddhist ideology has opened doors for me to new insights and learning. Today I see the present moment as the perfect teacher, and I experience new levels of depths in my way of being in life, in my relations – and, not least, in my meditations. With the training Essential Psychotherapy, I wish to achieve more insight into Buddhist psychology and to get inspired about the ways to use this in my daily work with others.

Tilmann is present, compassionate and generous – a very inspiring mentor and teacher. He disseminates the message in a simple way and creates a space for learning which makes room for reflection and considerations. No words can fully describe Tilmann and his teaching – you need to experience and feel it!”

Natalia Cornejo Bach

Natalia Cornejo Bach is training responsible for the specialist training Essential Psychotherapy in Denmark.

She is a trained psychotherapist, supervisor and restorative yoga teacher.

For several years Natalia has immersed herself in how you can use Buddhist psychology and philosophy in therapeutic work. In relation to this, she has initiated an evidence-based process. Here she is testing some of the Buddhist elements in a combination with psychotherapy.

Natalia is still in her early stages of studied Buddhist psychology  and has been taught by Tilmann Borghardt.

In 2019 Natalia started her three years and three months’ open meditation retreat under the guidance of the Tibetan Buddhist master Dupseng Rinpoche. She currently resides in a meditation center in Denmark.

Natalia is responsible for the professional leadership and development of Life Academy, where she is also a teacher in the psychotherapist training.

My passion for working with psychology and human development is deeply rooted in my heart. It is an internal, life-giving and ever-existing energy.

My focus is centered around being co-creator of the space in which we – as human beings – can liberate ourselves and others from the habitual tendencies, which close our mind and heart, by meeting ourselves and others.

I am convinced that compassion helps us strengthen our potential, and that we grow in loving contexts and in the kind meeting with ourselves.
